Elegant microwave

This microwave looks very elegant and sleek. The overall design with the hidden handle completes the look and makes it very modern. It looks amazing in my new kitchen. The black stainless steel adds an additional upgraded touch to the entire look. The ceramic interior and the LED lights compliments it perfectly. It is definitely bigger and more spacious than my previous microwave. Also, when it works, it is very quiet which is also a huge upgrade compared to my old appliance. Lastly, the beeping noises it makes when your food is done are pleasant to the ear compared to my old microwave which was very loud and obnoxious. My favorite feature of this microwave is the SlimFry. I was able to cook fries and chicken nuggets which were one of the best ones I've had: very crispy and not dry at al. In addition, some of the additional great features are the ability to do a steam clean, do auto cook or "keep warm." Moreover, another feature that I have used extensively was the ability to connect this microwave and use it via the Smart Things app. By doing so, I am able to get a notification when my food is ready, which comes in very handy while running around after my toddler. Because of this app, I now never forget about my warmed up meal which I used to do constantly when caring for two small children. Overall, this Samsung 1.7cu ft. Over-the- Range Convection Microwave with WiFi is awesome and I cannot wait to further use it to its full potential. I recommend this appliance to all my family and friends.

A stunning piece of technology! We recently got a Samsung stove and this matches perfectly; sleek and modern. It goes flush against my cabinets, without an overhang. The wifi tech is great to attach to your phone or Samsung TV for reminders, but can be a bit tricky to figure out. I love the presets as I like to make popcorn and baked potatoes often in the microwave. My favorite preset is the "soften" one because I love to bake and always forget to take butter out and get room temp. In my old microwave I'd try to soften it, but it would end up a melted mess. This is a game changer for me! Easy enough for my 6 year old to use it too! She just pulls her stool up, puts in her easy Mac, knows which buttons to push, and lunch is done! We haven't used the air fryer function yet, or a few other options, but overall it's definitely an upgrade.

i never got to use my slim fry microwave. per my video we were never able to install the charcoal filter as the directions stated due to a defect on the removeable grill. a technician came out said it was physical damage and they would not do anything we would have to go back to place of purchase. since samsung would not stand behind the product i was not comfortable keeping the microwave because if this small issue isn't resolvable what other things may be wrong that is not visibly apparent and will not be supported by samsung. a big shout out to home depot for understanding and making it possible to get a different microwave . i will not purchase nor recommend samsung appliances again.

The 1.7 cu. ft. Over the Range Convection Microwave is not your standard microwave. It's so much more,. To start it has a sophisticated look in the black stainless steel which is also finger resistant. No more handles sticking out, it has a hide grip to the right side which makes it so much easier. When you open the door, there is a helpful tip sheet with all the cooking programs. You have many options from reheating, defrosting, auto cook, convection, slim fry...and a keep warm option that working great. Nice added feature is the WiFi option, let's you know via mobile device when you food is done. Best of all, I'm not heating my house up with hav3 my oven on. I highly recommend the 1.7 cu. ft. Over the Range Convection Microwave

it have tried repeatedly to simply microwave a bag of microwave popcorn. it won't pop more than a handful of kernals. seems to be on convection all the time. because of this, if iuse plastic bowls the get too hot. instructions are no help at all.

I really like that it does all that a Microwave can do with great presets, AND is a convection oven that cooks like an air fryer for healthier alternative to frying. We are very happy with the product but the exhaust vent is a little loud and lacks suction but we knew that from the reviews we read before purchase. I bought this microwave to replace my old busted microwave. I have owned this for more than 6 months now, and so far it's been great. It came with great instructions and have additional wire rack that is helpful (I used it a lot to fry french fries in the microwave). The lock button is very useful to help me clean the door. It's very slick and my microwave still looks like new. Now if I can get the filter to be easily washable that will be even better...

I waited for months to get this microwave. I especially wanted the convection & slimfry capabilities. It does a great job cooking things like chicken nuggets and strips. They come out nice and crispy. I have also prepared pot pies and the top crust comes out toasted and fluffy. You can use Samsung Smarthings to control some functions from your phone if you want.. The LED over the oven light is also a plus. I am glad I waited for this microwave. AND.. it looks great in my kitchen paired with my new Samsung Gas Range.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Samsung Microwave/Convection & Slim Fry Oven! I've been using a NuWave oven for years for it's air fry feature. With the kitchen remodel this year, we decided to replace the NuWave with the Samsung oven due to it's multiple cooking features & since we needed to create more counter space by placing the microwave above the stove/under the cupboards. The NuWave is OUT and the Samsung Oven is IN! When I read the manual prior to it's instillation, I thought the cooking leaning curve would take some time. Boy, was I wrong! The grill feature and Slim Fry are my favorites and worked well the 1st time out! I can't say enough about how well and how versatile the Samsung Oven is! I'm VERY pleased with it's performance. Cooking is excellent, quick and clean up is simple. I'm enjoying cooking and experimenting with new features. Samsung provides all the needed cooking info in a concise form and some info is also added on the inside of the oven door for convenience. It's very helpful. I love the oven so much, I'll be looking for a counter top model (if Samsung makes one) for my 2nd home. All the important racks, grills and cooking paraphernalia are included with the oven so your all set to cook, once instillation is complete! I've also downloaded the app to control the oven which adds to the great Samsung features. I recommend this unit to anyone who is in need of a wonderfully working oven. Enjoy!!

We bought our microwave a few months ago. I love it! It cooks foods perfectly, and defrosts efficiently. I made a frozen pizza using the convection feature, and the crust was crispy. The air fryer feature made my wings turn out great! The skin was crispy and the meat was still tender. The fan has 3 modes which is nice, while the overhead light provides 2. It is really easy to use, and there are a lot of preset functions to choose from. My popcorn was perfect, only leaving 2 unpopped kernels behind. There is a nice cooking guide label located inside of the door. This microwave is also blutooth. I can tell if my kids used it even while I am at work. It will also tell you when your food is done cooking, or if you leave the door open. I highly recommend this product!

The microwave works great, and looks sleek and contemporary .Starting with great delivery people to excellent performance of microwave. The microwave and the touch panel are easy to use. I love the light over the stove, it is a bright white light. All the added special heating options have worked just as advertised with the settings guide provided with purchase. I baked chocolate chip cookies in this and the normal oven. The microwave cooked all the way through and left the tops a little brown if you like that!

We chose this microwave because it pairs beautiful with our new Samsung range. Not only do they look good together the speak the same language. Both of them are smart devices so when I light one of the burners on the range the fan on the microwave automatically comes on. The microwave heats quickly, has a ton of quick preset cooking and reheating modes. You can set the modes easily from the app on your smart device which makes it really easy to use. I really like that the interior of the microwave is a ceramic coating like the inside of a range so it's really easy to clean. One of the gratuity like most is that the app alerts you when the cooking cycle is complete, so I can be doing other things outside or in the basement and know when something like leftover baked ziti is warmed up and ready.

When it comes to Samsung - as always the style is very modern. It fits well with other samsung appliances especially the range. The led lights are bright and give more than enough light for the cooking you do on your range under this microwave. There are much more options available than in regular microwave. The slim fry option is great if you want to get fries fast. They come out delicious and crispy. It also has a convection option - really nice to have in a microwave - great if you want to bake something smaller or for bigger cooking, you have an extra baking space if your oven range is already full. I love the extra racks that you can use for different products. There is a lot of space inside as well - you can fit in a whole chicken inside. The cooking guide list which shows after you open the doors comes in really handy. For those who want the vent to go outside there is an option for that. Smart connectivity is great. You can pair this with a Samsung range and control it from your phone, even by your voice! Fingerprint resistant stainless steel is awesome - really easy to keep it clean. Overall a great product.

I love that my microwave is connected to the smart things app. We are still getting adjusted to the microwave but love that we are being alerted on our phones and can even set the time and temperature from our phones. There are so many neat settings to use as compared to your standard. I wish it came with a flashing piece to cover the microwave and cabinet. If you are cooking something a long time the steam does get on your cabinets so you will have to make sure your paying attention to condensation. I love the sleek modern design but it is not fingerprint resistant. We love the bright white light we use as a night light. We have been able to slim fry some fries without oil and it has been great. The convection cook has helped our food to be warmed up evenly. Being able to quickly and evenly thaw better when baking has also been helpful.

We love our new microwave!

This is by far the best microwave we have ever used! It is simply stunning. The stainless steel look finish is gorgeous and looks great above the Samsung range. The possibilities are endless with this microwave! It had preprogrammed settings to cook various kinds of food at the perfect temperature and time. One of our favorite features is the Slim Fry setting. It has Samsungs Smart Control capability which we absolutely love! It is slightly heavier than our older unit, but was still easy to mount and install. Setting it up with Samsungs Smart App was a breeze as well. It only took a few moments to get it linked up with the wifi. The greatest part about having all of our Samsung appliances linked together, is when the gas range turns on, the fan for the microwave automatically turns on as well. This is a great feature that our old and outdated microwave could never do! We really like this microwave because of it's size and versatility. We are very happy with our purchase and you will be too!

Don't expect much from convection option

i was looking for a convection oven that will mount over the stove . apparently they don't make one, so this was the closest thing to it. here are my biggest gripes: 1) speed fry function is fairly useless because it only has pre-programmed pre-sets. 2) not intuitive - popcorn, cookie, slim fry, autocook, defrost, microwave, convection bake / roast, speed bake / roast, grill, keep warm modes. some modes initiate with 'ok' others with 'start.' no idea what the difference is between convection bake / roast mode and speed bake / roast mode. 3) some modes, like speed bake or convection bake, if you open the oven to flip food, cook time cancels. 4) does not brown well. roasted cauliflower took nearly 35 minutes to brown - by then, it was cauliflower jerky.

This is a beautiful and elegant microwave. We had previously a 2.1 cu ft. and we replaced by the Samsung 1.7 cu ft. stainless steel. I really don't see much a difference between the 2.1 to the 1.7 as I consider this Samsung pretty spacious inside. The microwave is stainless steel and fingerprint resistant, which makes cleaning way easier. Also, it complements really nice our kitchen and pairs with our Samsung smart range. Setting it up was fast: you just go to the Samsung Smart App and it took a few minutes to set up everything; the app found the microwave and synchronized with my Samsung smart range. Then the most amazing feature ever: the fan turn on automatically every time that you turn on the stove top. Not to mention that the fan is really quiet and powerful to remove all the steam and odors. Another great feature is the child lock, which is also very handy when cleaning the front of the microwave. This microwave have so many features, some are the usual microwave feature such as auto defrost, reheat, popcorn, etc. But there are other new features such as melting butter, which makes melting butter cleaner and not as splashy; slim fry, which grill chicken tenderloins perfectly (as long as you use the special tray provided for the slim fry). Altogether, this is an amazing product and big update to our kitchen.

This is the last of my major kitchen appliances, I have converted all of them now to Samsung! I will say I have not been disappointed and this microwave is not any different. It far exceeds my expectations. You can tell the design team put some hours into thinking what would the user want. Starting off it looks sleek and goes with the kitchen. The large back glass to the lighted buttons on the side. I like that I don't have to pull a handle, it's on the side where you can see it. It has the ability to pair with the app which was very easy and pretty cool. It has bright white LED lights that shine down below. The fans are strong but quieter than my old one. Even when the microwave is in use it is not as loud. There are a lot of preset functions to it. Like melting butter, steaming, defrosting, and even reheating food. This microwave has plenty of power, rated at 1000 watts. You have the ability to reduce the power if wanted. Overall, this is much better than my old microwave and it complements my kitchen and cooking a lot!

Luxury microwave

This microwave looks and feels like a premium product. Just opening and closing the door feels satisfying. Exterior of the microwave looks sleek. No handle design makes the microwave look modern. Stainless steel finish looks great. Inside the microwave has plenty of space for anything you would need to microwave. It has a blue ceramic finish inside. I prefer this finish over the basic white finish inside most standard microwaves. Only complaint is that it's a bit difficult to see inside while the microwave is operating, which is not really a big deal to me. The light underneath is a bright LED light that does its job. The duel vent fan system also does its job well when cooking on your stove top. There's more to this microwave than being a good looking appliance in your kitchen. Convection oven capabilities is a game changer! We get pretty hot summers where I live. It's great to be able to cook something in the microwave without heating the house up using the oven. I baked a small cake in the microwave the other day! Never thought a convection oven in the microwave was necessary until I owned it. Now I will never go without. This smart microwave will link to your smart oven as well. It's pretty neat. Does cool things like automatically turn on your vent when you're cooking on your stove top. A+ design and A++ functionality. If you're looking to replace your old microwave look no further. This microwave will not disappoint!

It looks good...that's all it's worth

i own two homes and have one of these in each. both of them are useless. the first died randomly after two months then again a few months later. the second one stopped microwaving after a couple uses. i had two service tickets for these two microwaves at the same time, 1200 miles between the two. it's junk. and like the other review, service people won't take it down. so i have to do that. samsung should be ashamed to continue to sell this microwave. also, if you dent the door taking it down so they can fix it, your manufacturer's warranty is void. don't believe me? ask them. don't be fooled by the cool features and pretty looks of samsung appliances. don't do it.

Timer doesn't work

we had an mc17j8000 microwave in one home and wanted to replace an older microwave in a second home, so ordered the same one as it worked very well. apparently we were in the model changeover period and were unable to get the same model so we got the newer mc17t8000. we found that we couldn't use the timer withe the microwave in operation. had a service call, only to find out that combination was not available with the t8000 as it was in the j8000. we then found that the timer, when set to more than 35 minutes, would not complete the cycle, but rather return to the clock time. another service call replaced the circuit board, but it did not fix the problem. so we have a microwave that is not fully functional.

i am doing more with this microwave than i thought i would. it works great and it looks outstanding in the kitchen. i like the different functions but i am still learning. made great tasting food so far. hood and lights even work with the smart things app as well as the clock sync. don't know why there are so many bad reviews. glad i bought this.

Reheating function since, microwave broke

worked, then microwave failed after only 4 weeks. called for warranty. repair appt was a no show or contact. now i am stuck in quarantine with no microwave for another 8-9 days. only worked for 4 weeks? maybe i just got unlucky but so far i am not thrilled with reliability and warranty service.
