Scratches VERY easily!

This was my very first time cooking on it, and afterward I noticed SO many scratches all over the cooktop! I™€™m honestly shocked and incredibly disappointed. The pictures don™€™t capture the scratches and nicks very well, some of them may look like smears, but they are not! They are actual scratches with pieces of the surface chipped away. I only used two pots and was not rough with the cooktop, so I cannot understand how it could look this damaged after just ONE use! For a brand new stove, this is absolutely not what I expected. I™€™d like to return it because it scratched so easily! I can only imagine how it would look after one week of cooking.

The stovetop knobs are opposite directions for the back burners and front. Why this change? Definitely not a good feature. The material used to make the oven is not sturdy it™€™s light not structured for long term use. The oven light does not automatically turn on when door is opened! A poor feature to say at best. The oven door does not close smoothly - poor design. Having had Whirlpools in the past this oven falls short of the brand name I™€™ve used and trusted.

The health up mode works great. Evenness of the top and bottom elements could be improved; IMHO, there could be better balance in heating during baking mode. Can't go wrong with Whirpool appliances!

First time Whirlpool owner for any kind of appliance. It's a solid product. I'm mostly using the top burners for now in the summer months for Sunday breakfast. Everything about the oven seems to work like it's supposed to. Cooking time for my Sunday breakfast takes up to a half hour. The preheat feature does it's job although one of the marketing selling points when I purchased this was NO preheat. I don't know if that was Home Depot or Whirlpool but the bottom line is there is a preheat when you cook/bake something, it just doesn't take as long. Depending on what temperature you need, the preheat takes about 5 minutes. Which is miles ahead of the GE oven I had owned prior. The food seems to get cooked evenly and the right quality. I haven't done much boiling but again, everything about this unit seems to work correctly. I have had no real issues. i haven't tried the self-cleaning feature yet since I have been doing mostly pan frying. Bottom line. I consider this oven a solid product. I don't know anyone that has ever experienced a problem with anything that Whirlpool produces. I must add also that Home Depot had this unit at a great final online sale price at $600. You really can't ask for a better deal for a standard oven! Happy shopping!

Average and not quite as expected

An average appliance. Okay, but nothing special. The oven makes a squeaking noise, and so does the top when it is being cleaned, prompting a call for service one week after delivery. Heating seems to be fine. Timer is awkward and needs to be rethought. Finally, I expected a "no preheat" appliance to not require preheating, but that's not the case. That's misleading in my book.

Electrical spark after 2 months

Looks nice and had everything I wanted. Unfortunately, there was an electrical spark after 2 months. I™€™m not in an area where whirlpool has a service provider and it took them a week to inform me of that, I had to call back to receive this information. Had I not called again I™€™m not sure when they would have contacted me. Whirlpool offered to replace the range but it™€™s on back order now. My second choice is also on back order. Customer service is friendly and I realize it™€™s out of their hands. It™€™s just poor company policy to leave a family of 5 with no range for 4-6 weeks plus delivery time and the week I waited before hearing back from them in the first place. In my opinion, skip Whirlpool all together and buy GE.

I do enjoy the warm zone. Not happy that the drawer has a sharp area by the handle. The no preheat is really a waste of time. But I sure there are folks who need it. I would like the large burners opposite of each other. 2 large pots in front and trying to use small burners is a pain. Over all is a stove.

Oven doors falls down if you open it partially. Oven door heat gasket doesn™€™t hold heat from escaping. Cheaply made. When oven door is all the way down I see a screw that is part way out but no room to try to tighten it up.

I give it 4 Stars only because I have not used the oven or steam clean systems yet. I trust they will work fine as does the cooktop. The minor criticisms I have is that the dials should have a mark on them to indicate when they are turned to the ™€œoff™€ position or any other position for that matter. Also I am wary that the cooktop glass might be easily scratched by most iron skillets that I use. I have to be extra wary when cooking. However, so far so good. I would recommend it.

I just bought this 3 weeks ago and it came with some specks on the stove and smudge cylicon around one if the edges. Home Depot delivery service sucks to the MAX! These men don't want to do nothing! They find EVERY EXCUSE in the book to not help you. I requested a swap of my stove due to how my stove came in, all was good until another set of BOZOS of their delivery personnel came to swap my stove with excuses excuses excuses of not swapping my stove due to a removal of the stove sticker that identifies the make model serial number ect. I told them I have the sticker with the paperwork and the man refused to see it and left me talking plus didn't connect my stove back! I tried to upload pictures but it doesn't let me do it.

The first time I used this spots appeared all over two burners and NO.ONE. would help me, even though they had no problem taking my money! I would advise people to never buy whitlpool as there is no such thing as CUSTOMER SERVICE1

Looks good, works good, but cosmetic problems

We received the range one of the screws holding one of the support legs to adjust the height of the range was barely in needing to be screwed in tight, the stove top was scratched we tried everything suggested spraying it with water waiting 5 minutes or longer but apparently was not stains but scratches which you could feel with a thumbnail although minor, still you don't expect a new stove to be scratched already. We looked under the range with the drawer out we saw what appeared to be rust all over the inside of the range. I will say the range seemed to work and look good. Instructions in the manual were poor not explaining the controls although I guess most are self explanatory. We are returning the range for another suggest if you buy check it thoroughly on delivery. We are replacing a whirlpool range that was 23 years old after some burners failed, also have a whirlpool fridge also 23 years old. Whirlpool can make good products we will see how our replacement looks.

I bought this new electric range for our church. Everybody is so happy with this new stove. We have a large banquet coming up and the ladies were requesting that we get rid of the old oven and buy something that would be perfect for us. Well, that's exactly what I did and everybody seems to be quite happy with it. And for me, I was very happy with the low price.

Knob safety issue...pictures below w/ my fix below

I bought this a month ago and it is working fine. There is a "feature" I find challenging. It's the knobs, something that is fundamental to enjoyment and safe use of the product. The knobs are 100% black so it's easy to lose track of where the knob actually is. When vertical, the knob may be off (safe) or 100% ON (not safe). There is a small groove to show the 100% on/off position but its black-on-black and hard to see. My wife used some white acrylic paint to make the position more visible. I guess you could use white nail polish if it was around. Such an easy thing to address, but safety factor didn't matter to Whirlpool.

The good: It cooks food and looks sharp. The could be better: I bought this range from Costco. I had no choice of color and had to get stainless steel. As I said, it looks sharp, but the graphics for the cooktop control knobs are too small and don't contrast enough with the background; they are almost invisible. The pointers on the knobs ARE invisible, being black on black. I can feel them but not see them, even with the light from the range hood turned on. A kitchen range is supposed to primarily useable, and having the controls clearly marked is important. How the appliance looks should come after ease of use!
